SR&ED (pronounced “SHRED”)

Management Support Network provides organizations with a “front-to-finish” SR&ED package which includes:

• Identifying eligible projects
• Writing the technical portion of the Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) submission (working with your technical employees)
• Working with your administration/ accounting staff to pull together the value of the claim
• Preparing the tax schedules to support the amounts claimed
• Working with your Accountant to merge the SR&ED submission with your tax return and to discuss tax planning strategies to minimize the overall tax burden
• Meeting with government auditors or other officials to facilitate the acceptance of the claim

How are we different?

Many firms use non-technical consultants, or sub-contract consultants that have a limited understanding of the eligibility criteria and tend to “push the boundaries” of what qualifies. 

We don’t have to “push the boundaries” because all of our technical people are full-time, senior consultants that are extensively trained on the technical and financial eligibility criteria. As a result, our clients are assured that they get every dollar they deserve, without having to “step over the line”. In fact, 100% of all of our files are peer reviewed internally, to ensure that any risk areas in the claim are identified, and managed accordingly. Also, the peer review ensures that costs being claimed make sense based on the work described in the technical reports, and that no eligible cost is missed.

We have an excellent reputation with CRA. About 98% of our claims are “accepted as filed” or accepted with a minor adjustment. After doing this for more than 10 years, CRA is very well acquainted with our high calibre work. We attribute our great CRA track record to our highly trained and professional team.

When we identify an eligible project, the majority of our clients receive tens of thousands of dollars, and some clients receive hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Occasionally, a client will receive over a million dollars from the SR&ED program.
